Stephenie Meyer is an idiot.
All four of her books were terrible.
I cannot be convinced otherwise.
( it only gets worse from here! spoilers, etc! let's get this party started... )

The best part is about 1:01 - 2:30 (before and after that really should have been edited out by the poster, imo). He mimics the conversations between his two owners, a wife and husband.
[man's voice] Woah, shit
[woman's voice] Don't do that Aaron!
[man's voice] I'm sorry, it was the cat...
Haha! I've only ever heard parrots do one voice at a time, never the back and forth between man's and woman's voice. Pretty crazy!

Patches waits for me to give her her nightly insulin shot before eating! I thought it was a fluke at first, but it has happened many times now. I take her blood glucose reading from her ear, set her on the floor, give her her shot, and then she eats. And many times, she sits and waits for me to come over with the syringe and start tugging at her fur before eating. Tonight, her blood glucose was too low for insulin, so I placed her on the ground and threw away the lancet and test strip and looked back at her, sitting patiently, waiting for her shot before she began eating.
"Patches... You're not getting a shot tonight," I said.
She just stared back at me, waiting.
I walked over and pinched some of her skin between my fingers as if I were getting ready to give her the shot, and she leaned down and began eating.
She is such a good girl!!!
In the mornings, of course, all bets are off. That girl wants her food and she wants it now, screw the insulin and blood glucose both! Usually there is still food leftover in the bowl from the previous day, and she's chowing down on that before I can even get the glucometer ready to go. She is so funny.
Other notable Patches behaviors (because I really don't write about them enough, and there is so much cuteness to share):
She has a very tiny soft meow. It's very high pitched and dainty!
She is the. absolute. CLUMSIEST CAT I have ever met! She attempts to jump onto things, or run across surfaces, and it's a disaster. Homer will go sprinting across the kitchen counter, both Joe's and my desks, the windowsill and the coffee table, all in one smooth (but noisy) motion, effortlessly. Patches will jump from the floor to the counter, walk across Joe's desk and galumph! onto the little table next to it, and leave a trail of destruction and horror in her wake.
She licks your hands and arms! She is obsessed. When happy, she will turn and lick you, and if she can't quite reach you, she will reeeaaach her tongue out and press her head against the hand that is restraining her (as you're trying to get her to STOP because it tickles/hurts, as cats' tongues are wont to do), trying desperately to get those licks in.
She has the worst gas. She'll lie on us, sprawl out, totally relax, and let 'em rip. It is so awful! But she's usually lying there so adorably that it's hard to push her off your lap or the couch or whatever. Usually we just groan and laugh and continue watching t.v.
Patches likes to use your hand as a pillow. Also, the remote controls. She holds them between her paws. Sometimes, if she doesn't have anything between her paws, she just squeezes her paws across each other against her chest, and it looks like she's hugging herself. I especially like it, though, when she sleeps while holding her paws over her eyes. That is just too much cuteness to handle.

Got these links from
miss_meander and have been meaning to share them with the rest of you. Finally getting around to it, after reminding myself when talking to
collie_wing the other day!
Got any other Twilight parody stuff to share?
I'm almost done with the fourth book, btw. Then my ranting will commence.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!
Hope you all have an amazing and happy 2009!
<3
Merry Christmas!
Happy Yule!
Happy Solstice!
Day #8: I am happy that I got a lot done! I got new syringes for Patches, went grocery shopping (god help me), and did four loads of laundry! I also took out all the recycling and garbage, shredded the last of my gigantor pile of papers that needed shredding (from when I cleaned out my filing cabinet), and mailed some Christmas cards that, yes, will be arriving a bit behind schedule. But they will be arriving, by golly! Whew!
Also happy making - a new favorite show on Animal Planet called "Orangutan Island"! My heart melts watching those babies learn how to live in the wild again. SO AMAZING! I seriously watched like 3 episodes in a row.
I am also very, very happy that I called and talked to my mom this evening. I'd been feeling all PMS-y and out of it for much of the day, and calling my mom felt so nice and Christmassy and we laughed over funny stories and just chatted, and it was great.
Most of all, I'm super happy to be spending this holiday with my wonderful husband, and our two kitties, in our cozy apartment. We've got the Christmas lights on, and a newly washed blanket to cuddle under on the couch. The kitties are happy and warm. There is ham in the oven as we speak. And we're all happy and healthy and cozy-toasty-warm.
Eggnog and ginger bread cookies are in our future this evening! I mean, uh, we're leaving them for Santa!!
And it's raining!! This is good news, because it may just mean I only have to work two hours tomorrow. I love the birds and all, but I love being home on Christmas even more, hehe!
Also tomorrow, we're going to get together with some friends who invited us out to dinner. So rad!
Happy Holidays to you all!

Day #7: I'm happy I got so many cool recommendations from you guys. Thanks for the links and recs to such cool, natural products, yay!!
I'm also happy that my photo printer is mostly working! And I'm happy I have today off, too.
I'm also happy that my photo printer is mostly working! And I'm happy I have today off, too.
I need new shampoo AND new body wash. Mine are almost completely gone. So I'm putting it to my flist - what do you guys recommend?
Day 6: I'm happy that today, I weigh 165.4 lbs!
I've been at a steady 166.6 for several weeks, for the most part. A few times I weighed in a little higher, even seeing 170.2 at one point. Ack! It's nice to be down a bit, seeing the scale finally heading in the right direction once more (especially since I've been actually making an effort to eat sensibly this week!).
I'm aiming for small goals; first, 160. Then, here I come, 155!
P.S. I'm still doing the days of happiness meme, even if the days aren't consecutive!

Day #5: I am happy that I reorganized my 101 Things list! It finally looks all cool and formatted and color coded! Check it out!
I'm also happy I revamped some goals, getting rid of some in exchange for others that fit my interests more, etc.
I'm not sure what color to pick for things I know I didn't complete. Like my 50 books in 2008 goal. Yeah, try TEN. Oh well. So I need a different kind of color for that square. Or maybe an icon. I'll have to think about it.
My other concern is finances. I came across an advice article for building a 101 Things in 1001 Days List, and it said to consider the cost of everything on your list to see if it's really feasible. If getting married, buying a new house, and buying a new car are all on the list, then just make sure that's really doable.
I'm not sure everything on my list is doable, now that I'm looking at finances closer. I was thinking of visiting everyone in my family. And going to NYC. At first that seemed totally smart. I can fly to Boston using my free plane ticket, then drive to NYC, stay with a friend instead of a hotel. But visiting Chicago, Texas, and Washington, in addition to that? Plus completing my goal of swimming with dolphins, plus the Hearst Castle trip with Joe... Those big ticket items are adding up fast. I mean, I know I have two years until the deadline, so maybe it IS doable. But, it'll definitely take some careful planning. Hmm..
At any rate, I put my journal catchup goals on there and my story writing goals, and changed my paper journal goal to 2009. Time to give Embodiment another go! I changed some fitness goals, too. And so help me, it will be FIFTY books in 2009. Or, at least more than ten, hehe!
Goals are fun! I like this project.

Day #4: I am happy that I joined FlyLady's email list. Thanks for the suggestion,
hakidonmuya! I read a bit about her philosophy on her website of getting things done in baby steps. I like the encouragement to do a little at a time. I've never been able to be organized or keep things clean regularly. Yet after only a few days, I'm finding it pretty easy to keep the kitchen sink empty, and this morning I cleaned my bathroom sink and countertops, because today was the day to do that. Then I applied that philosophy to exercise and fitness and took two serparate 10 minute walks around the block today. Baby steps! Baby steps are a good thing. My desk is even coming together. I forgot to take a "before" photograph, but whatever - at least it will be clean and functional soon. It's in transition at the moment.
So yeah, getting my home and life clean and organized is quite happy-making to me!

Day #3: I'm happy I have a really nice and reassuring veterinarian.
Patches is fine, btw. She had some issues that may be pancreatitis or something, so I took her in to see the vet today. She's on an intestinal medication now, Flagyl, which she really, really hates. That poor cat! But I am really happy that she's okay. I'm also happy that the vet thought it was so great that I've been tracking her blood glucose so closely, and doing it at home. She also said, "Her ears don't look like you prick them twice daily!" And that was so awesome, because I've been a little worried about her looking like she has a heroin addiction or something because of her ears, but I told the vet that (hehe), and she didn't think so at all. It was nice hearing, "You're doing a great job with her!" So yay for nice vet and (more or less) healthy Patches!
Now if I Joe and I can just get rid of our own sicknesses, we'll be all set...

Day #2: Today I am happy that Oliver (red fronted macaw) was very well behaved and came right over to me and stepped up onto my hand. And Baby (moluccan cockatoo) is definitely coming around! Still scared of me (because I am suuuuper scary!), but not as scared as he first was. Yay!
